UI/UX

The vAuto program is used by car dealers for pricing and appraising vehicle data. The dealership’s Data Management System (DMS) will import the data into the vAuto software. As the software is customizable, there are different filters, prices and data to import per specific conditions. This is modified with SQL code placed into the customer’s online account.

Most beginning technicians have very little to no code writing experience. Also, there is limited character space that can be applied with code; there is not enough space to write notes in the code and schema/tables may change variables several times over. Learning SQL on-the-job can be tricky, so I created a breakdown of a commonly used merge statement. This is a standard merge SQL statement showing an outside file that will import and update into the vAuto database.
And for technicians that want to learn more, I created a more lengthy breakdown that gives definitions of all the SQL keywords.

Tools: Microsoft OneNote, Oracle SQL.
