Resource Guide

FSRIA+BIG+LOGO

I volunteer a ton of my extra time (too much perhaps) to my St Roch neighborhood improvement association – FSRIA. I’m the chair of the Greenspace Committee, as well as the Blight/Code Enforcement Committee, and I’m involved in many other aspects too. This requires me to hunt through many different city departments, websites, dashboards, and contact lists to find people or the data I need. So I decided to throw it all together so I can locate these resources with a few clicks on my mobile.

I added a page to my website called St Roch Resources. At the <head> I imported the Bootstrap and JavaScript I need, followed by basic HTML with only Bootstrap classes so I can skip the CSS and…voila! It’s like a phonebook for any city services you could need!

I’ve been able to let other board members of the improvement association use my tool. It comes in handy when talking with a resident who needs city assistance and I can immediately pull up the contact information: neighborhood mayor’s liaison and office hours, council district’s office, road work projects, property data.

Tools: HTML5, Bootstrap, JavaScript.
