The vAuto program is used by car dealers to price their vehicles and add enhancements to help advertise their vehicles. The Merchandising module is an upgraded feature that scans the web to confirm certain marketing features have been published online. This feature is not magic- it needs to be manually coded into their account in several places to ensure the incoming data can correctly update. As dealers constantly change their website host (but keep the same URL) or have group pages and sub pages added, troubleshooting this module is extremely tricky.
I created this color coded visual guide for troubleshooting the Merchandising module. The Level 1 technicians (green) can only log the error (if there is actually an issue), whereas the Level 2 technicians (yellow) can add/edit incoming data and the Level 3 technicians (red) have the authorization to edit how the we data will update inside of the program. These charts will guide the technicians so they know how much time to spend troubleshooting and when to escalate the issue.
